LGBTQIA+ Legal Matters
I am a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ Community. I am keenly aware that our community has unique and special needs when interacting with virtually any part of our legal systems. This is particularly true for individuals of transgender experience who face tremendous obstacles in the criminal justice systems and have unique battles in the family law realm, among other things. I am also aware that many in our community, for a variety of reasons, are less likely than the general population to have access to the funds typically necessary to access justice. As a result of these circumstances, and my passion for and dedication to our community, I offer a unique practice area for LGBTQIA+ law with special rates on a sliding scale.
Apart from legal representation, I do other advocacy work for the LGBTQIA+ community in many ways. I was awarded the Dallas LGBT Bar Association's inaugural Justice Award in 2019 for my advocacy work (see the image to the right). My advocacy work has also been featured in several news articles in publications including the Dallas Voice.

Rates:
General - $300/hour with sliding scale based upon demonstrable financial need
Name/gender change package - $500 (plus filing fees)
Name/gender change package with document update services - $1,000 (contact me for details)
